Dredging duck cage
At Anna Jacobapolder is a decoy by Hoondert dredged. Previously ducks were trapped in this cage, these animals were then sold to poulterers (mostly in Holland). Today the cage is owned by the Zeeland Landscape Foundation, this foundation has made the cage as much as possible in their original state. The ducks that are currently in captivity are counted, somethimes with a ring and released. Because the cage is in a nature / quiet area we can not simply work with all machines. The work must be done with small machines that minimizes damage to nature and cause little noise. With a mini excavator on a pontoon the mud is shoveled from the pond, it is pumped through pipes to a tank. It is intended that the work before the start of the breeding season terminates.
